PEACEMAKING

ho’oponopono

Conflicts can rage in ourselves, our families or community. How to handle, solve and overcome conflicts is something we seem to have an hard time of doing. Powerplay, social roles, online arenas and our fears fed by trauma, assumption and prejudice can distract us. Ho’oponopono - to make right - is an ancient indigenous practice of peacemaking that shows us and might teach us a way to overcome conflicts.

it is overwhelming to see how many life coaches and mental health sites a.o. appropriate this Hawaiian practice and dilute it to a 'technique' of a 4-phrase healing prayer or mantra, without referring to the width and depth of the practice as a whole nor referring to the culture that lays at its core.

I am interested, intrigued even and eager to learn more about how we as a community can take care and solve conflicts in our community. I found information and teachers on indigenous websites, explaining this culture and the practice on a holistic level.
